Connect to a DTEN TV (3rd and 4th Floor Conf. Rooms)
Wired Connection to DTEN TV:
Find the USB-C cable (possibly on floor)
-
Connect directly to laptop (If the laptop doesn’t have a USB-C port, please use a different laptop or try to connect with wireless option – or contact IThelp@wi.mit.edu for a loaner)
- Select BYOD on Tablet or TV, Once connected – the TV should act as a standard display, either with an extended desktop or mirrored depending on the laptop configuration
- If you are only presenting locally you should be all set
-
If you are presenting over “Zoom” – After connecting the TV to the Laptop with USB-C wait a few seconds for the devices to be detected and then go to the Zoom settings:
-
Camera DTEN – make sure and turn off virtual backgrounds
-
Microphone DTEN – Look to see that sound is being picked up – blue bar should be moving up and down
-
Speakers DTEN – press Test Speaker button to make sure the volume is correct
If TV is unresponsive press and hold the lower button on the back left of TV, wait for TV to shutdown and then press again to turn on. Things to note – laser pointers don’t work with TVs so we recommend using the virtual pointer within Powerpoint or standing next to the TV and pointing, please be careful when using wooden/metal pointers, they can damage the TV!)
